Hi all,

Hope you're having a good summer - whether its holidaying or racing or a bit of both. Have updated the club champs results - let me know if I've got anything wrong, or missed you out. Congrats to Simon, Steve R and Warren who braved the wet and mud at Cymmer X for what sounded like a great off road event for the MBTrs out there - will make sure I'm not on holiday for it next year. Commiserations to Nigel T who would have made his debut on the score board if it weren't for the fact that he arrived a day late!

Especial praise to our juniors who took part and did fantastically well - Joel Poulteney Maddy 3rd T3 Male, Ocean Poulteney Maddy 1st Tristart F, Rhoslyn Bryn 2nd T2 Female (parents let me know if these results are incomplete/incorrect - the results table a little unclear)

Newsflash - we have 2 new Ironmen - Andy Mundy and Peter Williams who did IM UK - well done guys - a race review from you would be great.

Hi all,

Many thanks to all those who roused themselves from their beds at an ungodly hour for a Sunday (unless of course you're the dedicated ones usually up at that time for training!) to help marshall at Tuska. The event went really well and we've had some good feedback from competitors.

Hope you had a good race if you took part!

If there's any feedback you'd like to give from a marshalling/competing point of view do let us know - always looking to make improvements for the future.

Anyone fancy the National Club Relays 21<sup>st</sup> August Nottingham? We’d love to get some teams together – the club will pay the entry fee. We can make up any combination – mixed, vets, novice etc – just express your interest and we’ll look at our best options. Not a club member? no worries - we're happy to accept bandits and confer honorary membership! Email pencoedtri@live.com or talk to Debbie/Mike. Info follows;

This event is now not so much about the swim, bike, run elements, but obviously these are very important. We like to think this whole weekend of fun is triathlon's answer to the Glastonbury Music Festival. Yes, there's the headline stage - over the years we have had Olympians and World Champions taking part but this weekend is also about the apres triathlon. Where else can you find close to 1000 triathletes all camping and partying together?

No club should miss this event. One of the most exhilarating and fun events on the UK calendar, the Club Relays revolves around teams of four using a tagging format where everyone swims, everyone bikes and everyone runs in a race that looks like a mixture between competition and chaos.

With a 400m swim, a 15km bike and a 5km run any four triathletes can get together and make up a team and race in one of the range of team categories available. But don't think it's just one big laugh. With British Triathlon National Honours at stake there will be some serious racing out there on a completely closed course over which your team mates can see you (and shout at you) for the duration of all three disciplines.

Ever fancied racing a triathlon in an arena, well this is as close as it gets.

Email pencoedtri@live.com or talk to Debbie/Mike.

Hi all,

Got a bit behind with this - kids tri /half term and all.

Now that the race season is upon us and many of you are out there doing the business on the weekends its harder to keep my finger on the pulse of who's doing what!

So will structure race round ups into calendar months to go in the newsletter and we'll set up a specific page on the website - please can you send in news of what you've been up to - results, positions - doesn't matter where you've come - its the doing it and sharing news of your exploits that count! Feel free to give as little or lots of info as you wish! Race reviews would also be great - venue, weather, organisation etc Please also let us know what you've got coming up

So can you send in what you've done for April and May 2010

Ones I know of - congrats to Alan Kerr who qualified for the Worlds at Grendon Sprint, Simon Osborne who won his age group and qualified for the Euros and Worlds at the Little Beaver (boo hoo to me who missed qualification there by a place and min and a half - all in the swim - back in the technique lane I think and have another go at Bala - still- there's nothing like a new set of wheels to cheer a girl up!)

Peter Williams braved the first Bryn Bach aquathlon, me, Alan, Liz, Rob were at the second one, Jenny moved on from Try a Tri to Brecon, Steve R has been at the Ogmore Valley time trials, Alex down in the New Forest ..... well done all

Club champs- congrats to those that did the Merthyr Mawr 5km - Mike Edwards and Ian? - can't locate any results at the moment. Let me know if you did it and how you did and I'll update club champs table.

Upcoming events - Cosmeston (Club champs) this Sunday - good luck all those entering. I'm doing South Cerney Sat so won't be taking part but hope to come and watch.

Croups Duathlon Llandow 16th june/7th july

Bridgend Lions 5km - Sat 19th june 4pm (Club champs - see Bridgend AC website)

thanks,

regards

Debbie
