Club Champs

Dear Club Member

This year the club champs will encompass a broad range of events aimed at giving members of all ability and levels and strength an oppportunity to participate and accumulate points.  Where possible we have selected events that support our local clubs and the Welsh Champs/Grand Prix Series events.

20 points will be awarded to the 1st male and female club member. 19 points for second and18 for third, etc. Prizes will be given to 1st , 2nd and 3rd male and female, 1st male and female junior, 1st male and female vet.  Presentations will be made at the 2010 Christmas Dinner along with awards for the following ...

Best performance in Welsh grand prix (male and female)

Best Novice (based on Cardiff Try a Tri results May 2nd)

Best Tristar (aged 7-16)

Best Youth (aged 16-18)

Best Half Marathon

Best Middle Distance/Half Ironman

Best Marathon

Best Ironman

Nominations for the above categories will be invited and consideration will be given to finish time, nature of course and degree of personal achievement. judging panel will be formed from club coaches, committee members and club members.  No bribery allowed !!!!!!!

Duathlon -Gower (Olympic and Sprint Distance) Saturday 15th May

Off-road Sprint Triathlon and Junior Tri - Cymer Afan Tri 7th August

Club Time Trial - Llandow Race Track - Date TBC

Standard Distance Tri - Bala Wrexham Tri Sunday 12th September

The Bala event will also give us the opportunity to have a celebratory end of season club social weekend for family and friends.  As well as supporting competing club members, there is plenty to do in the area for non-racing folks, including fabulous walking and water sports.  This will be an option to form a giant Pencoed Tri Camp (the run going through the campsite or take over a local hotel) ... more to follow
